When you have received your real-time meter, it is time to download the Saveeye app. The app can be downloaded from Google Play Store and App store.

Some good things to check before trying to start the installation are that the correct socket on the electricity meter (P1/RJ12), that the socket/port on the electricity meter is unlocked by your network company, and that you have a good WiFi connection where the electricity meter is located.

Once the app is installed, you can create your account and start installing the puck. After logging into your account, press the middle of the 3 fields at the bottom and go to the list of your Saveeye devices. Currently, this list will be empty.

To install the puck to your meter, connect the cable to your meter’s P1/RJ12 socket. The P1/RJ12 socket looks like a phone jack. Once you have connected the puck, it will light up blue.

When the puck lights up blue, go to your account in the Saveeye app and select "Scan new device," after which you will have the opportunity to scan the QR code on the back of the puck.

When the puck appears in the app, follow the steps below:

For newer Saveeye+ devices:

  1. Go to your Bluetooth settings on your phone and ensure Bluetooth is turned on.

  2. Follow the prompt in SaveEye app and select your WiFi from the list and enter your WiFi password to connect your device. If your Wifi is not showing up, ensure your WiFi frequency is 2.4 GHz.

  3. Your SaveEye device should light up steady red when it is connecting to WiFi.

  4. The puck will light green for about 5 seconds when it connects to your WiFi.

For older Saveeye+ devices:

  1. Go to your WiFi settings on your phone and connect to the Saveeye network (without a password).

  2. Then select your own WiFi network in the window that opens.

  3. Log into your WiFi.

  4. Connect.

If your meter’s P1/RJ12 socket is activated, click “continue.” If the P1/RJ12 socket is not activated, you need to contact your network owner and request that they unlock the socket.

It is also important to check that your WiFi reaches your meter; in some cases, you may need to move your router closer so that the real-time meter gets a stable connection.

After this, the connection is complete, and you can attach the puck to the outside of your meter using the magnet in the puck. You are now ready to start following your consumption in real-time in the Saveeye app!
