The price of electricity varies every hour around the clock, and so does your consumption. Here's how your billed cost is determined:

The sum of [Consumption for each hour x electricity price for that same hour]

The average price shown on the invoice is what's known as a weighted average, which is calculated as follows:

The sum of [Consumption for each hour x electricity price for that same hour] divided by the total kilowatt-hours for the period.

Therefore, the average price fluctuates depending on when you consume the most electricity during the day. If your usage is highest during the cheaper hours of the day, your average price will be lower than if you consume more during the more expensive hours.

If you're curious about the cost of electricity during a specific hour, you can find this information in the Greenely app under 'Analysis' and then proceed to the period you're interested in. Here, you can see your consumption and cost hour by hour, day by day, and month by month.
