Centrally Controlled Batteries for Frequency Regulation (many other home batteries)

- Batteries are controlled centrally with software where data and activation of all batteries occur in a cloud solution.

- All batteries in a virtual power grid are activated with a central function.

- Frequency measurement occurs at a few locations in each electricity region.

- Limited volume in the ancillary services market (may only account for up to 15% of the total market).

- Examples: central frequency measurement, central calculation of available capacity and activation.

Locally Controlled Batteries for Frequency Regulation (Pixii Home and Greenely)

- Batteries are activated individually and do not depend on a central function.

- Not limited by the volume that can be utilized in the ancillary services market.

- Can be locally controlled even if central functions are used for planning.

- Measures frequency at each individual battery with a frequency meter approved by Svenska kraftnät.

Since we offer locally activated batteries with local frequency measurement, we can generate more revenue for our customers than many other similar solutions. You can read more about volume limitations for centrally controlled batteries here at Svenska kraftnät: https://www.svk.se/aktorsportalen/bidra-med-reserver/behov-av-reserver-nu-och-i-framtiden/volymbegransning-for-centralt-styrd-fcr-placerad-i-kategori-b/
